Why TXCSLN?

CS education has never been more important than it is now. With the rapid rise of AI, all students need foundational knowledge about computing to be critical and informed citizens. Despite this need, less than half of Texas public high schools offered a CS course in 2025-26, even though state law requires all high schools to do so. To address this gap, we must support district and school leaders to build strong computing education pipelines.

TXCSLN is here to provide a community of practice for K-12 administrators and leaders to learn from and support each other in addressing the most pressing challenges in CS education. Through bi-monthly virtual meetings, we help you stay up to date, grow your network, and build your computing education program.
We cover topics like:

  • How to build a K-12 CS program
  • How to fund your CS program
  • Texas CS education policy updates
  • Texas Education Agency programs of study
  • Industry-Based Certifications
  • CS teacher professional development opportunities
  • Resources for K-8 Technology Applications TEKS
  • Resources for AI education

Who TXCSLN Is For

TXCSLN is for Texas administrators and leaders who oversee CS, cybersecurity, and AI education in their school or district. This includes CTE administrators, principals and assistant principals, superintendents and assistant superintendents, technology specialists, curriculum specialists, librarians, and teacher leaders.

If you help your school or district make decisions about computing education, we want you!
