Data Science for Texas (DS4TX)
In alignment with Data Science for Everyone (DS4E), DS4TX aims to catalyze the adoption of data science and data literacy as an integrated component of K-12 education across Texas.
Data Science Integration
Data science integration goes beyond offering standalone DS courses. We envision data science as a lens through which students engage with their core subjects. Integration can include:
- Analyzing historical trends in social studies
- Discovering patterns in literature
- Modeling phenomena in science
- Solving real-world problems in mathematics
Students learn to think critically about data and make evidence-based decisions across subjects.
Teachers don't need to become data scientists; they simply incorporate data-driven thinking into the subjects they already teach.
