Call for Proposals!

Presentation proposals for the WeTeach_CS Summit are now being accepted! Submissions will be accepted through December 13, 2024. Accepted sessions will be notified no later than January 31, 2025, with a full registration discount and lodging for two nights for up to two presenters.

Join us for the 2025 WeTeach_CS Summit, a 2-day conference hosted by WeTeach_CS, an Expanding Pathways in Computing (EPIC) program. At this event, attendees connect with passionate educators committed to broadening participation in K-12 computer science (CS) and cybersecurity education.

Attendees will get the chance to catch up with colleagues from across Texas and beyond, all while delving into the latest CS and Cybersecurity best practices. From gaining valuable classroom tools and generating innovative ideas to integrating culturally responsive curriculums, the Summit is your one-stop destination for enhancing your teaching toolkit. Stay at the forefront of current CS education trends, research, and innovations, and celebrate your achievements alongside incredible colleagues who share your passion. The 2025 Summit will be held in Austin, TX, at the Renaissance Austin Hotel. Approximately 500 CS and Cybersecurity champions will be in attendance. You won’t want to miss out on participating in this dynamic, knowledge-sharing community!

Educator Awards

Annually, WeTeach_CS (WTCS), an EPIC program, honors those making an impact in computer science education in their classrooms, schools, and districts. Through our WTCS Change Makers Awards, teachers, counselors, or administrators who are making an impact in Computer Science education are given recognition for their incredible work and funding to expand their programs.


WTCS Change Maker Awards - $750

The WeTeach_CS (WTCS) Change Makers are teachers, counselors, or administrators who are making an impact in Computer Science education in their community. Nominate your peers to acknowledge their great work!

WTCS Mini-Grants - $1,000

The Mini-Grant Awardees are teachers with fantastic ideas to improve teaching and learning in the classroom. The grants support instructional resources and materials for K-12 Computer Science. Projects include those conducted during after-school activities, summer camps, or in-school programs.

Scholarships

We understand that attending conferences can be expensive, and we want to make sure that teachers have the opportunity to further their professional development regardless of financial constraints.

Scholarship Eligibility and Benefits:

  • Texas CS Leadership Network Current and Active Member: 100% of registration cost, transportation, and 2-night hotel stay.
  • Texas K-12 Educators: Participants pay only $50 for registration (regularly $600), plus the scholarship includes a 2-night hotel stay.

This year, we’re excited to announce that we’ve created a list of volunteer opportunities! We have a lot of fun working on these tasks, and we know some of you will enjoy the camaraderie and engagement as well.
