Computer Science 8-12 Certification Incentive Program (CIP)

WeTeach_CS is offering a $2,000 stipend to currently certified Texas educators who add a CS certification to their resume.

This application is for Texas educators applying for a one-time stipend through The University of Texas at Austin, WeTeach_CS: Computer Science 8-12 Certification Incentive Program. If you have not yet read the complete application instructions, or need to access the instructions in order to submit required documentation, please do so now.

CIP Checklist

Candidates must meet all the following conditions to be eligible for the CIP stipend:

1. Have a UT EID (University of Texas Electronic Identifier). If you do not have one, you will need to create a UT EID before applying.
2. <meta charset="UTF-8">Be pursuing a TEA certification in Computer Science 8-12 starting June 1, 2024 or after
3. Hold a current Texas teacher certification in a field that is NOT Grades 8-12 Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Technology Applications, or be enrolled in an approved Educator Preparation Program (EPP) for Texas. **exceptions will be made for those teaching a Networking course in the 2026-2027 school year that cannot be taught with a Computer Science / Computer Information Systems (any level) certification
4. Be a teacher of record in a Texas public or charter school, or be enrolled in an approved Educator Preparation Program (EPP) for Texas
5. Not an H1B Visa Holder 
6. Not in default on a student loan

At this time, applications are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Funding for this program is limited and an application is considered complete when this online application AND all supporting documentation is complete and received in our office.
