We provide professional development, curriculum resources, and collaborative opportunities that enable teachers to bring cybersecurity to their classrooms with confidence.
WeTeach_Cyber is dedicated to growing the cybersecurity workforce pipeline by empowering K–12 educators, administrators, and counselors with high-quality training and resources. Through partnerships with school districts, industry leaders, and cybersecurity organizations, we provide impactful workshops, presentations, and collaborative learning opportunities. As part of WeTeach_CS at the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) at The University of Texas at Austin, our mission is to expand access to cybersecurity education so every student can develop the knowledge and skills needed for success in a digital world.
The WeTeach_Cyber Hub is a professional development initiative to build and enhance cybersecurity education in our nation's schools. One of the most important ways to increase the availability of cybersecurity courses in our high schools is to invest in the education of our nation's cybersecurity teachers. The goal of the WeTeach_Cyber Hub is to increase the number of Texas high school CTE teachers who can effectively prepare students for cybersecurity post-secondary opportunities and careers.
Our Cybersecurity Webinar series features three strands designed to support both educators and students. Cybersecurity Basics builds foundational knowledge aligned with TEKS and CompTIA Security+ objectives, while Cyber Career Discovery highlights career pathways, industry insights, and opportunities in cybersecurity. Emerging Threats & Technologies explores cutting-edge issues like AI risks, neurotechnology, and quantum computing, preparing participants for the future of cyber defense.
WeTeach_Cyber has partnered with CYBER.ORG to offer cybersecurity webinars and workshops at no cost to Texas teachers. This initiative aims to support and enhance the professional development opportunities available to school educators, specifically focusing on cybersecurity.
