Networking Fundamentals and EC-12 Tech Apps Certification Prep

This summer, WeTeach_Cyber is offering two specialized workshops to support educators teaching College Board’s Career Kickstart: Cyber Networking course. The Tech Apps Certification Prep workshop will help teachers prepare for certification, while the Networking Fundamentals workshop provides hands-on training in core networking concepts. Whether you're new to the subject or looking to strengthen your skills, these workshops will equip you with the knowledge and resources needed for success in the classroom!

Transportation (up to $500), lodging, and a per diem will be provided for Texas teachers.  

Choose one or both workshops to attend—each will be offered twice this summer:

Workshops Option 1

Location: Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC), Austin, TX

  • July 7-8: Tech Apps Certification Prep
  • July 9-11: Networking Fundamentals

Workshops Option 2

Location: Angelo State University, San Angelo, TX

  • July 21-22: Tech Apps Certification Prep
  • July 23-25: Networking Fundamentals

TExES 242 EC-12 Tech Apps Certification Prep Workshop

This certification can be used to teach Networking, Foundations of Cybersecurity, Cybersecurity Capstone, Fundamentals of Computer Science and Computer Science Principles in Texas. See the Texas Education Agency’s Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) (Chapter 127, Section O) for more information on each course.

EC-12 Technology Applications Certification Incentive Program

Texas teachers that meet EC-12 Technology Applications requirements can apply for a $200 Certification Incentive Program stipend for successfully passing the TExES 242 EC-12 Tech Apps exam and obtaining certification.

Networking Fundamentals Workshop

Are you new to teaching networking? Join our three-day hands-on workshop designed for educators preparing to teach College Board’s Career Kickstart: Cyber Networking course. Led by experienced instructors, this workshop covers networking essentials, equipping you with the knowledge and confidence to guide your students through fundamental networking concepts. 

This workshop is designed for beginners, so no prior networking experience is required! Whether you're transitioning into cybersecurity education or looking to strengthen your foundational knowledge, this course will provide practical skills and real-world applications to help you succeed in the classroom.

Scholarship Information
