Registration and Costs

All courses or events offered through TACC must be paid for at the rate established by TACC. See Registration & Payment for information about how to register and pay for your course.

Income Tax Deductions for Educational Expenses

TACC offers non-academic credit courses and is therefore unable to provide a Form 1098-T to students. Please retain your confirmation of enrollment and payment receipt for tax purposes. In some cases, participants are eligible for the Lifetime Learning Credit. For more information, please visit the Internal Revenue Service website.

Course and Events Logistics

Pre-Work Assignments Some courses and programs include assignments that are to be completed before the course or event start date. If your course or program includes pre-work, the assignment(s) will be emailed to you in advance of the start of the course.

Virtual Courses and Events

Zoom links will be provided after registration.

In-Person Events Location and Parking

Location and parking-related information will be provided on the event page.

Accommodations

TACC is committed to creating a welcoming learning environment for everyone. We work with UT Austin’s Disability and Access (D&A) office to provide appropriate accommodations to students with disabilities. The purpose of accommodations is to ensure all participants have equal access to and the opportunity to benefit from all UT Austin educational programs. If you require special accommodations or assistance, please email a request to TACC-Program@austin.utexas.edu at least two weeks prior to your program or course start date so that we will have time to process your request. Documentation may be requested.

Course or Event Cancellations

Workshops and events must obtain a minimum number of enrollments in order to be conducted. If your workshop or event is canceled due to low enrollment, then we will notify you via email as far in advance as possible. TACC reserves the right to substitute instructors, change course and program dates, change the modality and/or cancel any program due to insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. TACC is not responsible for any travel or lodging expenses incurred by participants.

Please contact us at TACC-Program@austin.utexas.edu or visit the program website for confirmation that your program will be conducted prior to making travel arrangements. In the event of a cancellation, you may request a fee transfer to another course, workshop or event within one year of enrollment or request a full refund. Please allow up to seven days for processing the refund from the date of the request.

Inclement Weather

If a workshop or event is delayed or canceled due to inclement weather or any other unforeseen circumstance, you will be informed by email as far in advance as possible. The instructor or another TACC staff may follow up at a later time with information about alternative plans. We are not responsible for travel-related expenses in the event of a cancellation due to inclement weather. For events held on the UT Austin campus, TACC typically follows the university operating schedule, which can be found on the university Emergency Information web page.

Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Hours

TACC workshops, events and courses do not appear on official UT Austin academic transcripts, nor do they yield academic credits and cannot be transferred for credit in an academic degree program. In lieu of academic credit, TACC courses and events confer Continuing Professional Education (CPE) hours.

Please visit each workshop, event, or course web page for a listing of CPE hours awarded upon completion. In order to earn CPE hours and meet the requirements of professional education certifying bodies, you may be required to meet attendance requirements and demonstrate knowledge of course material. Any participants with outstanding financial obligations to TACC will not be awarded CPE hours until their obligations are settled.
